The Art of Digital Manipulation
Beginning 1995, I realized the ability of digital manipulation. To look at a 2D image and realize that it’s not what you see but what has been seamed together to give you an end product. Once that ah hah moment happened it was game, set, match with my approach to digital art. I’ve taken my passion for science and education from SCAD to see the world through “X-RAY” glasses.
Looking at the world not just for what I see but for what it’s made from. Age, decay, light sources, light fall off, atmospheric pressure, erosion and liquid dynamics. The convex reflective state of a morning dew drop nestled on a single blade of grass. Understanding what makes the world gives the unique ability to take it apart. To understand that lighting and color, creating something new or changing the captured world into anything you want it to be.

Heavy retouch of 3D lighting renders.
Mid-tone was achieved in 3D renders while highlights and shadows were a mix of digital painting and renders. Colors were also heavily adjusted per channel and overall. These are samples of the full visualizers found on Lexus’s website. To view more please for the links below.

Fashion + jewelry Retouching
All aspects of composition executed including: nip/tuck, tonal grading, facial cleansing, wardrobe adjustments, jewelry adjustments, dirt removal, lens dust and object removal.
HEADSHOT RETOUCH
Each image was carefully evaluated based on color spectrum, toning/lighting and visual retouching needs.
Aspects retouched: Toning of skin, cleaning fly away hairs, lip retouching, make up retouching, eye enhancements and dental adjustments.
SOCAL - IMAGE COMP REBUILD
Started with an original photo I shot. Deconstructed the entire photo and rebuilt it with over 7 different assets and 5 lighting treatments.
ROSES - IMAGE COMP REBUILD
Started with an original photo I shot at the Culver City Car Show. Deconstructed the entire photo and rebuilt it with over 3 different assets and 4 lighting treatments. Added Reflection to chrome as well as dust and halo lighting.
